Carrick-a-Rede Retreat began with a clear vision: to create something truly special on one of the most breathtaking stretches of Northern Ireland’s coastline. A place where guests could switch off, unwind, and experience the raw beauty of the Causeway Coast in comfort and style.
The process started with thoughtful design. We knew we didn’t want generic cabins. Every element, from the materials to the layout, was carefully considered to balance luxury with simplicity. Large picture windows to maximise the view. Private hot tubs for every cabin. Clean, modern interiors with space to breathe. And the choice of projectors in some cabins to offer a more cinematic, cosy experience.
Our very first cabin was built off-site and delivered fully assembled. On installation day, it was carefully craned into position, marking a real milestone and the beginning of something much bigger. Seeing the structure land in place, perfectly framed against the sea and Rathlin Island beyond, was unforgettable.
From there, we kept going. Each new cabin was shaped by what we’d learned, both from the build process and the feedback of our early guests. We fine-tuned everything from access paths to outdoor seating, always aiming to improve the experience without disturbing the natural surroundings.
What we’ve created is a retreat that feels remote yet connected, high-end yet grounded in the landscape. It’s a place for couples, friends, and quiet adventurers to come and stay somewhere that feels both new and timeless.
Building Carrick-a-Rede Retreat has been a journey — one built on purpose, persistence, and a deep appreciation for the land and coastline we’re lucky enough to work beside. We’re proud of what we’ve created, and even more excited for what’s still to come.
